Lazy, cynical, pessimistic, a LaVeyan, pierced & inked, a cult leader, an addict to addiction, a pot-head and a motherfucking pterodactyl.

Mycology is a strange thing. When I tell someone that I study fungi for a living, I get the strangest looks but if they could stop and see the world the way I do for just a minute they might see how amazingly wonderful the smallest parts of our world really are. Take this image for example, these are not just some clinging parasites devoid of beauty. They are as beautiful as any flower. In a world of magic they might lend themselves as faerie shelves. At this angle in science fiction this looks like a completely different world and yet it is the same Earth we all call home.

i love you

The Bones of St Pancratius are found at the Church of St Niklaus in Wil, Switzerland. He was originally robed in clothes by nuns in the late 1600s but in 1777 – the centenary of his bones arriving in Wil – he was dressed in this magnificent commissioned suit of armour.

My own diagnosis of my problem is a simpler one. It’s that I share 50 per cent of my genome with a banana and 98 per cent with a chimpanzee. Banana’s don’t do psychological consistency. And the tiny part of us that’s different - the special Homo sapiens bit - is faulty. It doesn’t work. Sorry about that.
